REFLECTION 3

I learned a lot from desining the sites this week! I acutally think that the sites can be very helpful not only for me as a teacher to stay organized but also for my parents and students, to be informed at all times! I think it creates a much better learning enviroment when you and your students' are able to communicate well and stay on top of things. I think these tools help very much in staying in touch with parents and keeping them informed of whats going on in their child's classroom. The pros of these tools are obvious, to help keep in touch with parents and students, and to stay organized and up-to-date on things as a teacher. I don't really think there are any cons! It is a great tool!!!

EDEL VIDEO WEEK 3

I found the video for this week interesting. A lot of the statements I completely agree with and others I think are not so great. One statement that I thought was very powerful was the question, " How much "richness" do you have in your curriculum? " It really makes you think! One think I thought was absolutely ridiculous was using cell phones to teach. give me a break, that is a joke! And as far as the "imagine this class assignment" texting someone from outside your class and finding out what their favorite breakfast food is, in my opinion has no value or oppurtunity to obtain valuable knowledge. However, overall I definatley think we should as teachers use more technology in our classrooms.

EDEL VIDEO WEEK 2

Well I couldn't get the video WEB 2.0 to work, I'm not sure why it wouldn't work but I tried multiple times. As far as the dewey decimal one though, I loved it! I think songs or poems etc. help students retain information so much quicker and more effectively. I really like it alot! I really like the classy white rapper!! :)

REFLECTION 2

In todays world technology is all over and is increasingly being used in the classrooms, I think this generation would be lost with out technology with how much we depend on it. As for as communicating with my students, as an elementary teacher I don not think it is write to communicate with the students outside of school with the use of any kind of technology, however I feel you can better relate to your students by being aware of the tools of technology that your students use. I think communication between teachers and parents is very productive and think that the social networking tools available can be very productive in your classroom. I think you have to be very careful with the communication tools that are available.

REFLECTION 1

I can not wait to be a teacher, and for the most part I haven't ever really tried to plan or create the most ideal classroom, cause I really feel that you never really will have the best or most ideal classroom, however you can try and have one with alot of hard work. As for as the physical aspects go, my ideal classroom would definatly be in Utah somewhere close to my family. It doesn't neccesarily have to be in a very nice rich school but the most ideal would be a nice clean classroom that I can bring students in to enhance their learning expierence. I really feel if your space is not clean less learning will take place, so I definatly want a clean classroom. In an ideal class there would be alot of parent teacher communication and parent involvement in the classroom. I feel the more the parents' are involved the better the expierence will be for everyone, teacher, student and parent. As far as class goals, I definatly think students gaining and developing respect not only with me as the teacher but with their peers will create the most ideal classroom in which students can learn the best. Again I don't think teachers will have the oppurtunities for the most ideal classroom but I most definatly feel that as teachers we can create a beautiful classroom in which students will grow and learn.

EDEL VIDEO WEEK 1

The Video talked about a couple of different topics, but a couple things interested me. Three of the Country's largest Internet Service providers are considering placeing monthly limits on their users internet activity. Customers would pick a plan and they would pay for the amount of time they use the Internet. "People who use the internet more heavily should pay more, just like they do for water, electricity and cell phones." I found that interesting and I hope that they do not decide to do that! I think it would change how students and teachers use the internet greatly, and that could be a postive or negative thing. Another thing the video talked about was touch screen computers. I think this is a very cool idea, Just watching it on the video it looked fun!
